What is the Levitator?
The Levitator Sewer Support is a way to fully support and protect your RV sewer hose to ensure proper function and drainage.
How Much Tension Does it Pull?
During a test with the faucet running and a large flush we showed 8 lbs. For full span with a large dump it could be around 18 lbs.
What is the White Sleeve Made Of?
The white sleeve is made of a waterproof, weather proof, sun protecting vinyl material that is durable and stands up to the elements.
Does the Levitator Support a P-Trap?
Yes; the Levitator can support a P-trap toward the RV side of the hose.
How Long Can it Span? How Do You Vary the Length?
The standard Levitator Sewer Support kit can span distances from 3ft up to 12 ft. Any length in between can be accommodated by overlapping the sleeves.
How Does it Attach to My RV? To the Sewer?
It attaches to the RV via a hose clamp and d-ring. The tension line is connected to the d-ring by a carabiner. The bracket assembly is attached to the sewer clean-out by an additional hose clamp.
Does it Sag When Dumping or When Water Flows Through?
All lines will sag some amount but it is very minimal and can barely be seen. (See our Instagram video) The amount of sag will have no impact on drainage and support.
Why Not Use the Accordion Style?
The accordion style does not support the entire length of the hose and therefore can cause dead spots and build up. This can cause improper drainage, and you will have to go hand over hand raising the hose to dump it fully. The accordion also doesn’t keep the hose stable during high wind or other outside forces, which can easily blow the hose out of the supports. Finally, our while the accordion support only holds the hose, the Levitator sewer support also protects your hose from the elements, especially the sun, while supporting it fully.
Will it Hurt the Sewer Pipe in the Ground?
The sewer pipe in the ground is typically made of schedule 40 pvc. The maximum pressure rating for Schedule 40 pvc at 6 in diameter is 160 psi. (Higher Rating for smaller diameter outlet pipes) Using a conservative tension of 20 lbs at the very top that puts roughly 50 lbs on the top lip of the pipe on roughly 2 square inches but for easy math and to be conservative we will choose 1 square inch of material. Max pressure on pvc is 50 psi or roughly 31% of its rated load.
